Computer Science I Grading
Computer Science I grades are determined by
labs,
projects,
tests, and a
final project on a
Huntington North grading scale and, for dual credit students, on a
Purdue Fort Wayne grading scale.
Labs (20% of overall grade)
- Lab programs cover a couple specific topics and are shorter programs (requiring less time to complete) than projects.
- e-Learning assignments are counted in this category
Projects (30% of overall grade)
- Project programs cover many topics and are longer programs (requiring more time to complete) than labs.
Tests (30% of overall grade)
- There are two tests each semester (each test is 15% of the overall grade)
- Each test consists of two parts:
- Part 1- Students can use programs they've written, the book, etc., to answer the questions. Part 1 is worth 2/3 of the total value of the test.
- Part 2 - Students can only use your brains and a writing utensil (no book, computer, etc.). Part 2 is worth 1/3 of the total value of the test.
Final Project (20% of overall grade)
- Students create their own projects utilizing all the topics covered in the semester.
